Susannah Murphy

Susannah Murphy is a Senior Research Fellow at Oxford University Department of Psychiatry and Supernumerary Teaching Fellow at St John's College Oxford University. Her research focusses on biases in selective attention and the processing of emotional information, and how these can be manipulated with cognitive and pharmacological interventions.  She uses a range of experimental techniques, including neuroimaging (fMRI and MEG), pharmacological manipulations, genetics and neuropsychological testing in healthy volunteers and patient groups. A major focus of current research is the Cognitive Health in Ageing Project project, which aims to develop interventions to boost cognition and brain plasticity in older adults, including cognitive bias modification and interventions designed to enhance selective attention.
